Educational systems

Educational attainment is considered a strong determinant of an individual’s social status and thus a central element in the process of social reproduction. Therefore, schools are considered one of the main institutions that affect status inequality. In our research, we focus on features of educational systems, such as ability tracking, and analyze their role in determining mobility and social stratification. As part of the GenDiT project[Link to GenDiT], we aim to answer how schools contribute to gender differences in computer-related skills and choices for fields-of-study.
